About the team

the sartorial project is an Australian sewing-pattern atelier that encourages beginners to established sewists to create unique garments at-home for their wardrobes.

We are a professional team of fashion and textile designers with over 30 years of teaching experience, collectively teaching over 1,500 students how to design, patternmake and sew. We are enthusiastic about sharing our knowledge and inspiring creative sewists and makers at all skill levels to come on the journey to create enduring relationships with their clothes.

Selecting a sewing pattern is just the beginning of this journey. By combining your creativity, such as personalising the fit of your sewing pattern, up-cycling or discovering the perfect fabric, sewing your garment, and applying original details and finishes, you have contributed to the collective design process.

Each pattern is designed with considered details and is available in multi size-sets. Step-by-step visual sewing instructions take you from beginning to end.
