Consider using contrast patterned fabrics or colours in the panels. The garment on the cover and included in the step-by-step instructions is created in a mid-weight double knit.
ALTERATIONS TO THE PATTERN: The Danto Diagonal Pocket Dress can be lengthened or shortened depending on your garment length preference.
*To make the dress, purchase fabric once you have adjusted the length to your personal preference.
NOTIONS:
✁Matching or contrasting sewing thread
✁Jersey or ball-point sewing machine needle for sewing stretch fabric
✁30cm of light iron-on fusing for Front neck facing (G)
✁*Optional – 1.30cm braid or trim for sleeve and hem detail.
SEAM ALLOWANCES AND FABRIC EDGE FINISHING: Main seam allowances are 1.2cm and can be sewn on a sewing machine using a stretch stitch or 4-thread overlocker. Check tension first on the fabric to make sure the tension has enough stretch so it will not snap. It is good to test prior to sewing as every fabric will be different.
FABRICS: This sewing pattern will work and fit well using fabrics that stretch. Suitable fabrics include single or double jersey, brushed and un-brushed fleece in bamboo, cotton, linen, or cotton/bamboo blends.
