DESCRIPTION: The Opus bag is a large bag that features an internal pocket for accessories such as phone and keys, and an in-seam pocket which can be accessed on the outside of the bag for quick access items such as face mask, sanitizer and tissues. The handles on the bag are wide and generous to fit over the shoulder comfortably. 

ALTERATIONS TO THE PATTERN: This bag pattern is in one size only, but it can be scaled up or down, depending on the size you require. *To make larger or smaller versions, purchase fabric once you have adjusted the pattern to your personal preference.

SUITABLE FABRICS: Cotton Poplin, Linen, Cotton/Linen blends, Chambray, denim or stable mid-weight woven fabrics. As a up-cycle option, leftover fabrics can be pieced together to make this bag.

FABRIC & NOTIONS:

✁110-120cm wide fabric - 1.20 meters

✁140-150cm wide fabric - 1 meter

✁Matching or contrast sewing thread

✁2.80cm of 25mm wide single fold bias binding or allow extra fabric to make your own.

SEAM ALLOWANCES AND FABRIC EDGE FINISHING: Seam allowances are 1.2cm, unless otherwise noted. To finish the edges of your fabric you can use an overlocker (3 threads), zig-zag or suggested finishing stitch that is available on your machine.

ENHANCING YOUR SEWING SKILLS: This pattern is suitable for sewists with some sewing skills. Sewing this pattern will help you become proficient at applying bias binding, and sewing patch and in-seam pockets.

TIME TO MAKE: As an estimate this accessory will take you 4 hours to make depending on your sewing confidence level.
